Over the past 17 days I’ve seen some pretty amazing sunrises and sunsets. I always thought views from beaches and lakes were the best…I’m starting to change my mind. Here are a few of the gorgeous sights I’ve seen in the last few weeks.
Oh yeah…I see lots of rainbows, too! I’ve managed to capture two so far…
So we’ve been in Montana for 16 days, and I can’t get enough of the cows. I’m obsessed. I’ve been told that I will “get used to the cows,” and I “won’t even notice them anymore”…but I don’t see that happening. If you know me, you know I love animals. If you REALLY know me, you know I love cows. Always have, always will. That’s why I don’t eat them. I love them. Cows are friends! Not food!! Yes…I have enjoyed a few steaks and/or burgers in the past, but that is the past. Shhhh!!! Don’t let the cows hear you. They live close enough to trample me, or worse yet, gouge me. Eeek! Yes…there are longhorns on the property. And they do NOT like it when you take their pictures. Case in point:
Does he look happy? He was just chillin’ in the afternoon sun until I came along with my camera. Of course, this was the 15th or 16th picture I had taken of him…he had probably had enough. He didn’t even let his guard down when I conceded and drove away:
Ahhh! I did manage to get some pictures of some much sweeter cows…and a few babes! I’ll let the photos do the talking for the rest of this post.
Ok, so he’s not actually a cow, but he does have the right coloring. He also loves to eat grass. I mean…he’s making a serious “get away from me” cow face…let’s just call him a little cow for now 😉
Dimitri and Nick are in a tennis tournament on Kiawah Island this weekend, so of course I had to tag along. I’m not a tennis player, so I’ve had plenty of time to relax. I’ve been milking my relaxation time like crazy. Yesterday I actually fell back asleep in the morning and didn’t get back up until 9:50. That is seriously unheard of for me. Teaching has taught my body to wake up before 7 no matter what. Usually I can’t fall back asleep, but with no hungry pups to nudge me awake I’ve been able to snooze all I want.
For the past 2 days I’ve also been able to get outside to exercise without a single worry about time. I hate having to cut a workout short. I also hate rushing to get to a class at a certain time. Like most islands on the southeast coast, Kiawah has a run/walk/bike path that covers the whole island. Here are a few of the sights from my exercise escapades:
That’s Boone. He’s the mascot for the tennis crew this weekend. So flippin’ cute. When is a puppy not cute, though?!
Tough for the little ones to get it right…time for some extra spelling practice!
Sort through old mail. Bags and bags of mail…ugh.
Blue Moon and a movie. Loving my weekend right now.
